The second anniversary of CA-Mindanao
rolled off grandiosely despite the lack of resources. Celebrated
last 7 December 2006, the limited financial support allotted it by
CA, which at that time was also financially drained, was more than
compensated by personal contributions from seven Justices and its 131
employees. Topping the list of Justices-donors for the event was
Justice Ricky R. Rosario who gave a hefty sum.
The second anniversary was celebrated
with several colorful events. The 138-strong manpower held a CA
Family Lunch dubbed the “Bring-your-own-plate Party”.
A Thanksgiving Mass was held at 1:30
P.M. in the YMCA Boardroom attended by employees and guests.
Honorable Oscar Moreno, Governor of Misamis Oriental, who was in
attendance, told the members of the Court in public that he was very
happy that CA-Mindanao enjoys a high confidence rating from the
lawyers and the public.
The program followed the Mass. It was
interspersed with musical renditions from the in-house choir and
instrumental group. Executive Justice Teresita Dy-Liacco Flores
delivered the Welcome Remarks and the State of the Station Address
rolled into one. There were two highlights in the program: the
speech of Presiding Justice Ruben T. Reyes and the handing out of the
“Woodies Awards” or mementos of gratitude to deserving
institutions and individuals who have given the Court their unstinted
support in the past.
