SC Designates Specific Divisions of the CA to Handle Terrorism Cases

Pursuant to Republic Act 9372 (otherwise known as the Human Security Act of 2007), Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno issued Administrative Order No. 118-2007 designating the First, Second and Third Divisions of the Court of Appeals to handle cases involving the crimes of terrorism or conspiracy to commit terrorism and all matters incident to said crimes, emanating from Metropolitan Manila and Luzon. All divisions of the Court of Appeals stationed at Cebu and Cagayan de Oro will handle those cases coming from the Visayas and Mindanao, respectively.

R.A. 9372 vests upon the Court of Appeals the authority to act upon judicial matters in the implementation of the provisions thereof.
