again, members of the bench proved they could be as much proficient
handlers of the club as they are of the gavel.
Last February 8, 2007, several esteemed personalities in the judiciary,
together with their invited guests, trooped to the fairways of the
Wack Wack Golf Club for the 71st Court of Appeals
Foundation Anniversary Golf Invitational Tournament. Court of
Appeals Presiding Justice Ruben Reyes opened the event with his
ceremonial tee shot, followed by Associate Justice Bienvenido Reyes,
Justice Artemio Tuquero (ret.) and Mr. Luis Tan, President of the
Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
The event pitted twenty four participants for a day of friendly
competition and wholesome camaraderie. Chief Justice Artemio
Panganiban (ret.) emerged as the champion in the Class A Division,
with Atty. J. Tenefrancia finishing as second. Justice Jose Mendoza
snitched the title in the Class B Division, followed by Justice
Mariano del Castillo coming in as runner-up. The tournament
culminated with a sumptuous dinner and an awarding ceremony held at
the main clubhouse.
